Theatreworks Live offers seasonal acting, improv, and musical theater classes for youth ages 5-18. We also offer 2 commonalty theater productions a year where youth can participate free of charge. We are celebrating our 35th anniversary this year! Kids will start off the year with 101 Dalmatians Kids. Our teen community theater production is Legally Blonde.
This summer we have 3 theater camp opportunities available. All camps will be held at The Warehouse at E-Street in Abington, MD:
Lights! Camera! Action!
(Ages 5 – 8) $175
June 24 – June 29
Morning Session: 9AM – 12PM: Monday-Friday
Afternoon Session: 1PM – 4PM: Monday-Friday
In this half day camp kids will sing, dance, act, play games and make crafts. This camp will culminate in a 30-minute performance for parents. Musical Revue Featuring Songs from the Movies of Today! Quiet! Quiet on the set, everyone! Take your seats and prepare to be thrilled with songs and special appearances by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars! This musical revue features favorite songs from the hit movies SpongeBob SquarePants, Finding Nemo, The Polar Express, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Shrek.
Teen Tech
(Ages 13 – 18) $175

Attention all theatre enthusiasts! It’s tech time, and we’re excited to invite you to join us for a unique and hands-on learning experience. Our comprehensive theatre tech program will cover everything from sound to lights to sets and beyond. As a participant, you’ll have the opportunity to assist us in running the tech for our upcoming Junior production of Lights! Camera! Action! This is the perfect chance to learn the ins and outs of tech without missing out on the excitement of being involved in a production.
Les Misérables School Edition
(Ages 13 – 18) $350
July 8 – July 20 9AM – 3PM: Monday-Friday
In this full day, two-week camp, Advanced students will develop their acting, dance, and music skills as they rehearse and perform a fully staged musical.
Peter Pan Jr
(Ages 9 – 12) $350
July 29 – August 10 9AM – 3PM: Monday-Friday
In this full day, two-week camp, students will develop their acting, dance, and music skills as they rehearse and perform a fully staged junior musical. After our fall classes and class presentations, we'll have a community theater show. Details on this show will be posted on our website.
