FIRE & ICE!

Kick-off party at the Vandiver Inn Friday, January 17; 7:00-9:00 PM

With beautifully lit ice sculptures throughout the downtown area, there is a wide array of things to do and see both days including: live ice-carving demonstrations, a chili cook-off, hot wings eating contest, food trucks, trackless train rides for the kiddies, a fire eater, character meet & greets, an Ice Prince & Princess parade*, corn hole boards made of ice & a corn hole tournament, fire pits, s’mores, an ice graffiti wall into which you can etch your name, fire trucks & snowplows, live performances, in-store specials and demonstrations, and so much more! Radio station WHGM GOLD, our official media partner, will broadcast live from the Festival both days!

The festivities kick off on Friday night with a “Cocktail Kindle” cocktail and dessert party at the Vandiver Inn, the Festival's official lodging sponsor, featuring live music by Brenna Kupferman. Saturday opens with a showing of the movie “Happy Feet Two” at the Opera House at 11:00 AM. Sample the chili prepared by the restaurants throughout town and cast your vote to choose the best. Live ice carving demonstrations will happen throughout the day on Saturday, and "Elsa" & "Sven" will be greeting friends at her house on N. Washington Street. The evening wraps up with pianist Josh Christina performing at the Opera House at 8:00 PM. On Sunday, the fun continues with live performances by Elsa and her friends, the Prince & Princess Parade, a magician & fire eater strolling through town, and a trackless train ride down N Washington Street.

The event is free to the public; however, tickets are sold for the Cocktail Kindle party, Chili Tasting, Corn Hole Tournament contestants, the movie “Happy Feet Two”, pianist Josh Christina and the live Elsa & Friends show.

*Children 13 and under are encouraged to dress in their favorite winter costume and join the parade on Sunday, January 19. One Prince and One Princess will be crowned. They will reign for the entire year and be invited to appear at several HdG events throughout 2020.
